Run by the team behind Smolt, this November 2014 addition to the Hobart dining scene brings an Argentinian influenced grill menu, ideal for sharing. Some very tasty, albeit lesser well known cuts of meat, as well as local seafood are paired with great cocktails, local beers and a well chosen selection of wines. A great late night option too.

Newly opened in September 2014, three Japanese foodies, including a very talented chef, bring you izakaya-style food with a nice little selection of sake and wine. If you like your Japanese crispy then you’ll love their chicken skin on skewers and deep fried chicken cartilage! However, if you’re more partial to the juicier cuts, anything from their grill is perfectly seasoned. Wednesday is sashimi day and not only is the local catch fresh and beautifully sliced, it’s all about the accompaniments.

This new October 2014 opening, in the old Mercury building, sees chef David Moyle (ex Stackings Peppermint Bay) serving his favourite, lesser known local culinary treasures (think abalone, sea urchin, pigeon) in a relaxed dining space. With a scotch oven, there are tasty snack offerings at the bar, an ever changing list of tap beers and 100% natural wines.
