Our new must eats…

Hot in the City! Hobart’s CBD is where IT IS AT this Summer! Newly opened Franklin Bar & Restaurant has got its groove on, along with Three Japanese and Frank Restaurant & Bar. If you haven’t found an excuse to fly south we reckon these are some pretty tasty ones! Talk to any of our concierge team for more information.

Frank Restaurant & Bar

Run by the team behind Smolt, this November 2014 addition to the Hobart dining scene brings an Argentinian influenced grill menu, ideal for sharing. Some very tasty, albeit lesser well known cuts of meat, as well as local seafood are paired with great cocktails, local beers and a well chosen selection of wines. A great late night option too.

1 Franklin Wharf – (03) 6231 5055

Opening hours:
Monday – Saturday 8 30am – 10pm
Sunday 8 30am – 9pm

Three Japanese

Newly opened in September 2014, three Japanese foodies, including a very talented chef, bring you izakaya-style food with a nice little selection of sake and wine. If you like your Japanese crispy then you’ll love their chicken skin on skewers and deep fried chicken cartilage! However, if you’re more partial to the juicier cuts, anything from their grill is perfectly seasoned. Wednesday is sashimi day and not only is the local catch fresh and beautifully sliced, it’s all about the accompaniments.

133 Elizabeth Street, Hobart –  (03) 6231 8035

Open for dinner Monday to Saturday

Franklin Bar & Restaurant

This new October 2014 opening, in the old Mercury building, sees chef David Moyle (ex Stackings Peppermint Bay) serving his favourite, lesser known local culinary treasures (think abalone, sea urchin, pigeon) in a relaxed dining space. With a scotch oven, there are tasty snack offerings at the bar, an ever changing list of tap beers and 100% natural wines.
