The Islington Library with Heather Rose…

Award winning Tasmanian author Heather Rose has returned to Hobart with her family and acclaimed musician husband Rowan Smith and opened her former family home in West Hobart as Library House – a beautiful Federation House accommodating up to 8 guests for a stay surrounded by her inspiring Library of books.

Heather is the award winning Tasmanian author of four novels: White Heart, The Butterfly Man, The River Wife and Finding Serendipity.

This year Islington is embracing the cooler months with a celebration package of the best Island Winter Reads around. Each month Heather will select a personal favourite to add to the Islington library, culminating in an exclusive Island Author Dinner in September.

Heather’s favourite awaiting you in the Library for May is:

The Burgess Boys – Elizabeth Strout – A freak accident when they are very young effects all three Burgess children differently.  Now as grown-ups they are all brought together again when a hate crime is committed. A novel of society, politics, family and fate writing from this Pulitzer Prize-winning author.
