Summer has been a wonderful time in Tasmania, the sun has shone, the vegetable garden has flourished and the mulberry tree has been giving us plenty of wonderful fruit.

Now autumn is approaching the leaves are already turning and the Mountain beyond is so clear, a sight we never bore of.

The wood has been ordered as the temperature slowly drops and the cellar is being stocked with the new season Pinot Noir.

The “Islo Team” is also changing and we are sorry to say that Daniel our Buckingham palace recruit is moving on. He has been a wonderful member of the team and has taught us things Hotel school never could including the royal “spit & polish” and inside information that can not be repeated. We are however extremely happy to have a new member of the team starting in April, Kellee who will be our Front of House Manager and comes to us with a wealth of knowledge in food & beverage and hotel operations. Given that Islington has been recently voted ”most romantic dinner destination in Australia” Kellee’s skills will be a valuable asset and enhance the Hotels dining experience.

Our website is being refreshed with new images and information.  The garden is flourishing and it is wonderful to see the changes over time. The rose garden out the front of the house is certainly going to continue be a highlight when guests arrive.
